To promote Equal Participation and Integration of People with Hearing Impairment and Mental Retardation in all aspect of life to their potential and be self-reliant with justice, equity and pride.

  1. To create awareness on Persons with Hearing Impairment and Mental Retardation.
  2. To provide Training & Manpower development in the field of Rehabilitation.
  3. To provide comprehensive diagnostic & therapeutic services to Persons with Hearing Impairment and Mental Retardation.
  4. To conduct Early Identification & Prevention programs for Persons with Hearing Impairment and Mental Retardation.
  5. To carry out research programmes in the area of child development, Speech Language & Hearing disorders and Mental Retardation.
  6. To Provide complete Health centre for the Persons with Hearing Impairment and Mental Retardation

The aim of the institute is to serve the Speech and Hearing handicapped along with persons with Mental Retardation and other connected matters in close collaboration with the National and International organizations. The outreach and extension unit is working towards awareness creation, early identification & Prevention Program for Persons with Hearing impairment & Mental Retardation by conducting camps, establishing extension centres, training at these centres and providing hearing aids to the identified children through Govt. agencies. Parent-Guidance programmes also are conducted to ascertain satisfactory follow up work.
